Tips for cold/ flu season

 For a cold, drinking lots of strong rose hip tea and thyme tea, both with unpasteurized honey.


For a sore throat, hard candy is exactly as effective as medicated lozenges, and it doesn’t mess with your stomach — got that from our pharmacist 

These days, it’s a good idea to do a rapid test at early onset to be sure something isn’t the start of COVID. 

Pushing fluids and plenty of rest are both important. And no bright lights (also use night shift on cellphone and computer screens) after supper, and early to bed. If someone is bored, CBC Radio One is great entertainment when you’re sick, and because no light is involved, it doesn’t mess with your circadian rhythm.
