To cut down on telemarketing calls. Do not call list.

Here below is a link to put your number on the "do not call list "so you will not be bothered as much with telemarketers and the like.  But is does take a while( possibly a few weeks) for it to put you number in the system .

Hopefully, this will cut down on the amount of unnecessary calls coming into your household.

CRA scam calls

Just a reminder that the CRA Canada Revenue Agency will never call
you or email you.  They will only send you a letter if there is an
issue with your taxes.

There was a segment on the news re: CRA scam calls leaving messages
saying that there is an arrest warrant for you if you do not pay what
you owe.  All of this is a scam to get money from unsuspecting
persons.

Apparentl,y they increase these kind of calls during tax season... so
be careful and watchful..

Tips on Saving Money

Certain stores have discounts for seniors wherein you can get 20 to 30 % off on certain days.

So if you go with your parents or grandparents, then try Shoppers Drug Mart on Thursdays for 20 % discount on non-sale items.. They must have an optimum card to get the discount.

Value Village has 30% off for seniors on Tuesdays.   Salvation Army stores have a daily 10 % discount  for seniors.

Other stores,  such as  Rexall and Pharmasave, have similar discounts for seniors, but check with them as to when they have them.

At the same time, there are discounts for students at stores, and other services, museums, etc... so bring your student ID with you and ask if they have any for students.

Good luck.
